Engineering Manager

Our client is entering an extremely exciting phase in its history whereby it is expanding production output by a full 100%. To achieve this, the company has moved into a brand new, purpose-built 240,000 sq.ft. facility which will enable the company to secure 30% of the UK’s market share in its sector. To establish the most efficient manufacturing site possible, the company now seeks to appoint an experienced Senior Engineering Manager.


As Senior Engineering Manager you will:


-implement an effective engineering strategy for the new, larger site

-manage the ongoing transition of the company’s production lines to the new facility, ensuring minimum disruption to daily core business activities

-review the roles and responsibilities of your team

-analyse working patterns and staffing levels

-manage budgets, technologies and resources

-ensure all new equipment meets H&S requirements

-take responsibility for the maintenance function, including the maintenance of all newly installed equipment & maintenance schedules

-make cost and efficiency improvements

-use performance management techniques to monitor your department’s service levels

-select, procure and control contract engineering support

-support all product development projects


As Senior Engineering Manager you will need to:


-be from a FMCG/Food Packaging high volume manufacturing environment

-have a HND Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

-have experience leading an engineering team (including managers)

-be able to deliver a PPM schedule on time and to budget

-have experience of high-speed production machinery

-have a methodical approach to problem-solving

-have knowledge of the engineering process validation lifecycle

-possess good fault-finding skills

-have experience of continuous improvement

-have knowledge of safe working practices

-preferably have knowledge of Food Hygiene and HACCP
