Our client is one of the top North East based independent accounting and advisory firms – second largest by headcount with around 150 people.  Striving for excellence, with integrity and innovation at its core, it provides first-class solutions, strategies and outcomes for its customers. This is an exceptional career opportunity to join as Corporate Finance Executive, working alongside a newly appointed partner with extensive M&A experience.

Part of an expanding team in a dynamic and supportive environment, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and success, liaising with clients and professional contacts in preparing financial analysis, drafting financial models and business plans to support the Corporate Finance Partner in the delivery and completion of corporate finance activity such as company mergers and acquisitions.

 

Your main responsibilities as Corporate Finance Executive will include:

 

  • Supporting the Partner in leading of M&A transactions from commencement through to completion, including liaising with clients, lawyers, funders and other advisers
  • Undertaking valuations of a variety of businesses either as a standalone engagement or to support the assessment of M&A options
  • Preparing guidance and information memoranda as part of the business sale process
  • Undertake potential acquirers and potential target reviews, presenting the outputs to clients (in both written and verbal form)
  • Preparing financial projections models, working closely with clients to identify and challenge the underlying assumptions
  • Assisting the partner and clients with fund-raising assignments, including identifying appropriate funding sources, liaising with funders and clients, and responding to information requests
  • Alongside the broader company team, undertaking financial due diligence to support fund-raising, private equity and M&A transactions
  • Undertaking initial research and analysis to support new business pitches, as well as assisting in the preparation and delivery of the pitch
  • Making suggestions for updating and improving the department’s process and systems
  • Developing a network of contacts across the North-East professional community representing the firm across the region

 

As Corporate Finance Executive you will need:

 

  • Proven recent experience of delivering excellent client service gained in Corporate Finance, Audit, Accountancy or Tax practice – or strong exposure to these disciplines from a related field such as Fund or Investment Management, Venture Capital, Private Equity, Banking or similar.
  • Demonstrable technical knowledge in accounts, audit and/or tax, preferably with experience in preparing and/or reviewing financial projection models along with preparing and/or reviewing share valuation models
  • ACA/ACCA qualified
  • Confidence with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A flexible and proactive approach to managing multiple priorities
  • Desire to take ownership of tasks and assignments from start through to completion
  • Desire for accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent IT skills
  • The ability to travel to clients’ premises and attend networking events as required

 

Benefits and rewards:

 

  • Salary £37,000 to £42,000 + bonus + pension + benefits
  • To maximise pay/rewards, you must possess all outlined experience, skills, knowledge and qualifications
  • Full time, permanent role
