Internal Reporting Manager
Our client is a profitable c.£30m turnover technology business that has a strong track record of growth that can be traced back for c.50 years. Further to acquisition by a leading European player, it is consolidating and improving its market position and is now looking to recruit an Internal Reporting Manager for an initial 6m contract.
Managing Internal Reporting and General Ledger teams, ensuring the system of financial control is maintained to the highest standards, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout you will lead, plan and allocate the team as well as prepare, maintain and analyse a suite of management reports to support the finance team, other areas of the business, board meetings and external stakeholders.
A key contact and a source of advice and guidance on financial matters for all stakeholders, your main responsibilities as Internal Reporting Manager will include:
- Management of the team ensuring all team members follow accounting principles and accurate data is recorded
- Setting SMART objectives that align with the business and department’s goals and effectively measure, report and feedback on how the team are achieving key objectives
- Providing leadership, support and mentoring to help the team members achieve their objectives and deliver a comprehensive service to the business
- Responsibility of full preparation of monthly consolidated management accounts and reports for board packs, including investigating reasons for variances
- Responsibility for conducting monthly balance sheet reviews and ensuring recommended actions are transacted
- Responsibility for ensuring accurate VAT/GST transactions are recorded and reconciled
- Ownership of reconciling and presenting monthly reports and ad-hoc reports
- Assist in maintaining and developing robust financial controls
- Assistance with the year-end audit, ad hoc audits, and the preparation of statutory accounts
- To develop own and others’ knowledge of company accounting systems
- To ensure that the relevant records are maintained to comply with HMRC and tax legislation
As Internal Reporting Manager you’ll need:
- Solid commercial experience in a similar Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Reporting Manager type role, preferably gained in a fast-paced service driven environment, including subscription accounting and contract management
- Strong technical accounting skills and qualification (ACMA, ACCA or ACA or QBE)
- Knowledge and experience of Oracle NetSuite desirable, but not essential
- Advanced PC application skills, including MSOffice applications particularly Excel advantageous
