Maintenance Engineer
£38,000 to £48,000 / Newcastle upon Tyne / Jun 13, 2023
Our client is entering an extremely exciting phase in its history whereby it is expanding production output by a full 100%. To achieve this, the company is moving into a brand new, purpose-built 240,000 sq.ft. facility which, when complete in Q4, will enable the company to secure 30% of the UK’s market share in its sector. To establish the most efficient manufacturing site possible, the company now seeks to appoint an experienced Maintenance Engineer.
As Maintenance Engineer you will:
-ensure that equipment is fit for purpose, minimising downtime
-work closely with Production & Quality departments
-be responsible for the mechanical/electrical maintenance of production lines
-fault finding & problem-solving
-offer emergency breakdown response
-update management online availability post-breakdown
-carry out all PPM as per the company schedule (service, test, diagnose, repair & calibrate)
-record all maintenance activities
-coach line operatives in maximising machine settings
As Maintenance Engineer you will need to:
-have an HNC Electrical (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering qualification
-be from a FMCG/Food Packaging or heavily automated process, such as Automotive
-(preferably) have experience of PLCs
-have an understanding of engineering drawings
-be (preferably) from a fast-moving, high volume manufacturing environment
-be able to deliver a PPM schedule on time and to budget
-have experience of high-speed production machinery
-have a methodical approach to problem-solving
-possess good fault-finding skills
-have knowledge of safe working practices
