Recession Beating Coaching

Feb 15, 2010

The University of Sunderland has launched a scheme to help managers who are facing redundancy plan for their future.

The Associate and Fellowship Scheme aims to offer managers and directors an opportunity to receive high level career planning and one to one coaching to help identify future career choices and plans. The scheme, normally priced at £1500 per person, will be free for the first 36 eligible managers who sign up, and will run over a period of three months starting in March.

Pauline Wonders, Head of Flexible Learning at the University, says “it is often difficult for senior managers to think about their next career move, particularly if they have been with one organisation or profession for many years, and one to one coaching carried out by people with expertise in career planning, can help identify new opportunities and training needs to help realign the career and plan for a positive future. There are a lot of exciting things going on in the region and we can help explore opportunities for re-skilling in these areas.”

The scheme will involve three one-day workshops plus individual executive coaching sessions over a period of three months.
